It is with heavy hearts that we must announce that the Reserve will not open for the 2020 season. Carla and I began the restaurant side of the business not for financial gain, but for a more utopic reason – to connect people, the gardens, and uniquely fresh food. Our concept was based around communal seating, where couples with different backgrounds could meet and friendships could be created, all within the setting of local meats and the freshest vegetables from our gardens – only 100 feet from the table. For now, it is hard to foresee a time in the near future where this type of dining would be safe and socially responsible, which is why we had to make the hard decision not to reopen the restaurant. Grogg’s Green Barn remains. The gardens, bees, and chickens will remain. The space is still available for all types of private events and parties. The dinners will just not reopen.
In addition, we are excited to announce that chef Andrew will still be creating inspirational dishes for the citizens of Tulsa as he takes on the role of Executive Chef at one of Carla and my favorite local restaurants – @ameliaswoodfiredcuisine. It has truly been an honor providing fresh, sustainable meals to the citizens of Tulsa and to work with Chef Andrew and his wife Ashley, and we look forward to seeing where the future of the gardens takes Grogg’s Green Barn.
